Treatment
Psychiatric treatment at Peter Mark will always include initial therapeutic conversations and an assessment that will hopefully provide clarification.
Many people are unsure what the problem is, for example, if they are "just" stressed or if there is something deeper behind it, such as depression. Others struggle with concentration or memory problems without knowing if there might be elements of ADD or ADHD behind it. The internet, friends and family often provide very different and conflicting information and pass on good and bad experiences and advice.
We spend the first two sessions together drawing up a treatment plan, and you will receive my recommendations on suggestions and the order of treatment measures and which diagnoses are involved. For example, some problems may benefit from therapeutic treatment, while others are best addressed with a combination of therapy and medication. If trauma is involved, there may be a need for trauma therapy such as EMDR.
What can you expect?
You should expect to be actively involved in your own treatment. Together, we will make concrete agreements on what you focus on working on until your next consultation. Experience shows that repeating small changes from time to time leads to changes towards the goal.
How to start treatment
We use the first two conversations to hear about your life, your life experiences and the challenges you want help with. Possibly supplemented with some tests.
A treatment plan is drawn up. In parallel, the actual treatment begins.
